#14When Eyes are Opened: The symbol depicts what happens when God reveals himself, and people see what they have not seen before. It is to see anew and to see with the eye of faith. Dove with an Olive Branch: A symbol of peace and justice with origins in the Noah story (Genesis 8:10-11), and the dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit. The Chalice: A symbol of the New Covenant and the Last Supper. |

#15Separating the Sheep from the Goats: Standing around the globe are the sheep and the goats. It is a symbol of Jesus as Prophet and King. On the day of judgment Jesus' followers will know and follow his voice (Matthew 25). The Cross and the Crown: A symbol of Christ as King - the righteous judge who shares his crown (throne) with those who receive the "crown of righteousness" (2 Timothy 4:8). The Handshake: This symbol of harmony is prophetic of peace with God that comes through Christ. The Scales of Justice: This depicts God's quest for justice and God's call for followers to live obedient lives in response to the question "What have you done for the least of these?" (Matthew 25). |
