What do Peer Ministry trained Student Leaders do?

9th Grade Students are Invited to:

Peer Ministry trained students develop listening and caring skills to use with peers, at school, with their family, in the community and at church. Student Leaders may also serve at Immanuel in a variety of ways:

Small Groups - Areas of Ministry: Participate in Confirmation small group leadership and discussion. Active involvement in Confirmation opening (meeting and greeting middle school students - not huddling in groups with other Peer Ministers). Participate in Confirmation opening, retreats, lock-ins, and events to develop relationships with students.

Holy Commotion - Areas of Ministry: Students in grades 10-12 with gifts of music and leadership form the leadership team of our youth worship band, Holy Commotion. These Student Leaders care for, support and mentor younger students and are attentive to the spiritual leadership of the group. They work closely with the adult leaders in the development of a strong and vibrant worship leadership team.
