PROPtoberfest Volunteers Needed

Join our partners at PROP on Sunday, September 22 for their brand-new fundraiser “PROP-TOBERFEST at Fat Pants Brewing Company in Eden Prairie. A $10 wrist band ($25/family) purchased at the event enters you into a drawing for a door prize and gives access to outdoor kids’ and adult PROP-TOBERFEST festivities. Enjoy live music by local bands the Jolly Pops and Wondercure and grab some festive food and beverages at the food tent. Come inside the Fat Pants “Beer Garden” to purchase a “PROP-TOBERFEST” beer and play indoor games for a chance to win special prizes. Kick off the fall season with this great event for a good cause! All proceeds go to fund PROP Food Shelf.

This year, Immanuel will also be hosting the pumpkin decorating booth at PROP-TOBERFEST! We are looking for volunteers to help lead this event. Sign up for a shift today (11:30am-2pm or 2pm-4:30pm). We are also looking for someone who is interested in creating some decorations for our booth beforehand. All volunteer opportunities can be found HERE.

2024 Bingo Benefit for PROP

Each year Immanuel hosts a Bingo Benefit for PROP under a giant tent in our parking lot, as a part of our Welcome Weekend activities. Hundreds of volunteer hours make this fun, important day happen! Over $2,500 was raised at our 2023 event!

What does PROP do?

PROP offers food programs that nourish the body, plus comprehensive social services and support to nourish the minds of Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents, so they can gain confidence, regain control, and lead healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives within our community. Immanuel supports the work of our local food shelf in caring for our neighbors by:

Gathering non-perishable food donations in our PROP cupboard located outside of Fellowship Hall.
Giving financial support through Benevolence dollars and designated giving.
Supporting the Holiday Gift Program.
Supporting the Summer Food for Kids Program. (In 2019 over 1000 boxes of granola bars were donated by Immanuel members.)
Supplying the free children’s bookshelf at PROP. Donations of gently used or new books for children of all ages (including board books and chapter books) are always welcome in the box outside of Kim’s office.

Food Shelf hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 1:00pm and Wednesday 4:00pm-6:30pm. To place a monthly food order, last check in at the front office is 12:45pm (M-F) and 6:15pm (Wed eve)
Short term or emergency financial assistance is available
PROP also offers wrap around services such as employment assistance, financial mentoring, nutritional coaching, and enrichment programs for youth and seniors.

Volunteer at PROP:

PROP has a variety of volunteer opportunities within food operations, front office, and support systems. All volunteer positions are weekly ongoing commitments, with a commitment of at least 30 hours of service over a three month period. Orientation and training sessions are required for all volunteer positions except special projects or drivers. Learn more about the positions, hours and responsibilities here.
