Confirmation Faith Statements & Expressions of Faith

Most students choose to write their faith statement in the fall, but some choose to write it over the summer. Whatever your child chooses to do please continue to pray with and for your child throughout this process. Sometimes this process can cause anxiety for a student and/or parent. We encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit into this process as a couple of “nicknames” for the Holy Spirit are, Guide and Counselor. God promises to walk with us in faith! If anxiety persists, I encourage you to reach out to me, Paul Erdmann or one of our pastors to talk this through. We are here for you!

• Faith Statement Outline (This is a resource to assist students in writing their Faith Statement. It is NOT required that students use this outline, however, if they need help and are looking for an outline, this is a good resource).

• List of possible Confirmation Bible verses if you need some ideas. At Immanuel Confirmation students select their own Confirmation Bible verse; a verse that has been, or is still, a significant verse that has touched or impacted them in some way. Many students have a favorite, however, if someone is struggling to identify their Confirmation Bible verse this is a good resource to use. Your Bible verse does NOT have to come from this list…you can choose from any in the Bible!

• Students will share their Faith Statements and Expressions of Faith with their small group and parents. Our small groups, with their parents, will gather in the Sanctuary, Luther Hall, and the Fellowship Hall.
• Pot-luck meal.
• Following the meal students will make their Confirmation stoles.

Wednesday, October 22, 6:15-7:30pm (tentative date & time for photos)- Orientation to the Confirmation Worship Service and Individual Photos

• 6:15pm - Arrive, find your robe and get ready for pictures
• 6:30pm - Individual Photos
• 6:45pm - Group Photo
• 7pm – Confirmation Rehearsal (details on where to sit, what to say…).

Sunday, October 26, 1:30pm - 3:00pm - Confirmation Worship Service
