Financial Ministry

Give Like Jesus!

Our prayer for giving is that we would give like Jesus. Jesus came to embody God’s love in the world. He did this by giving his love, his care, his compassion, his service, his grace, even his life away to others that they, as we, might be blessed and saved. Jesus’ life was shaped by how he gave faithfully and generously, and our lives have been shaped and changed by those gifts of love.

God put each of us here to do that same, to be shaped and blessed by giving what we can give so that others might be blessed. We know joy and find contentment when we are generous, just as God intended. When we are selfish and stingy, it is fears and worry that are driving us. Giving is the best remedy we have to cure the unfulfillable desire to always want more. This fall, as we prayerfully consider how we can be faithful and generous. May we be inspired to GIVE LIKE JESUS, to be transformed by the blessing of generosity, and bless others through our gifts.

We thank God and we thank Immanuel for faithful and generous giving!  In June 2022 we burned our mortgage! Read more...

Online Giving

  • Give one time or schedule recurring donations online.
  • Use the Vanco Mobile App (Apple App store or Google Play store).

Annual Operating Budget (General Fund) vs. Capital Fund Appeal

  • The Annual Operating Budget (General Fund) covers day-to-day operations, including building maintenance, ministry programs, staff salaries and our annual giving.
  • The Capital Campaign budget enables us to address significant building maintenance and generous giving over and above our annual budget.

Watch this short video for more information on why we have ongoing capital campaigns.

Annual Operating Budget (General Fund)

How to Give to our Annual Operating Budget (General Fund)

You can submit your gifts/offerings to the General Fund in several ways:

1. Online

  • You can arrange for automatic recurring donations (weekly or monthly) from your checking or savings account.
  • Go to Giving for online giving and an optional App.

2. Making a stock donation

  • Gifting stock to the church is as simple as filling out a Transfer of Stock Form and mailing it to your financial institution (Or contact Immanuel's Church Administrator, Kelly Meyers at kelly@immanuel.us).
  • Be sure to keep a record of the date these shares are transferred and what the market value of the shares were on the date of transfer to use when filing your taxes.
  • You also need to be sure to obtain a written acknowledgement from the charity for your donation, which includes language indicating that no goods or services were received in exchange for this donation.
  • You can read more about the potential tax benefits of donating stock.

3. Box of Envelopes:

  • Contact marykay@immanuel.us to request a box of weekly giving envelopes, so you can place your offering in the plate on Sunday mornings or mail in.

Raise the Roof Capital Campaign

2022 - 2025

We “raise the roof” because the Raise the Roof Capital Campaign will ensure that our facility  is well maintained, eliminating the need for major  infrastructure maintenance for years to come. The faithful way we have attended to our church will enable Immanuel to continue as a welcoming place for worship, serving, learning, and community use.

We “raise the roof” because we have lived into our vision of serving others and lived out our value of faithful and generous giving with successful capital campaigns that have not only blessed Immanuel, but included generous gifts to ministry partners. As we tend to our roof and building needs with this campaign, we hope to help other ministries that provide needed shelter, Habitat for Humanity and Simpson Housing Services, with financial gifts that will strengthen their vital and compassionate work.

Our overall fundraising goal for this campaign is $400,000, which will be allocated as follows:

Reroof:

  • Replacing the rest of the old roof sections ($220,000)

Renew:

  • Replacing the large HVAC unit for the Sanctuary ($65,000)
  • Updating computers & IT network ($32,000)
  • Updating our 4 restrooms ($20,000)
  • Installing projection capabilities in the Living Room ($5,000)

Rejoice:

  • Benevolent giving to Simpson Housing Services and Habitat for Humanity (10% of our campaign total)

Building Up the Body of Christ Capital Campaign

2019 - 2021 Building Up

Our church was born from an act of generosity when the people of Old Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minneapolis gave their final assets to plant a daughter congregation “way out” in Eden Prairie. That was 1961. In the decades since, our members have prepared a place for ministry by generously sharing their financial resources, caring for our building and grounds, and preparing wonderful gathering spaces where members of our community have come to worship, learn, play, socialize, work, eat, sleep and care for one another.

But our story doesn’t end there. We have always reached out beyond the walls of our church, gratefully sharing with our neighbors down the street and around the world - helping ministries as new as Onward Eden Prairie and as established as Mexico’s AMEXTRA prepare caring spaces for the members of their communities. This is how we build up the body of Christ, in love.

Our story continues because of you. Thank you for prayerfully considering a financial gift to our 2019-21 Building Up Capital Campaign.

Opening Doors Capital Campaign

Opening Doors Captial Fund Appeal2016 - 2019 Capital Fund Appeal

God is leading us in faithfully fulfilling our vision of reaching deeper into our congregation and further our into our community to better know and care for one another. With your guidance we have identified three specific ways we can open doors to those who are knocking and provide spaces that respond to their need.

  1. Welcoming: Caring for our space, making it more vibrant and welcoming
  2. Collaborating: Collaborating with community partners to provide safe haven for youth experiencing homelessness
  3. Sharing: Gratefully sharing with ministry partners in North Minneapolis
